Residence with beautiful views a broad valley and the forest
Named the Ridge House, this residence is located in rural Canada where it enjoys wonderful views of a broad valley and the wood. It was a projection by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson and it was built in 2007. The house covers an area of 6300 foursquare meters and it stretches along the crest of a narrow ridge, from where it also gets its name. It's surrounded by vegetation and a hardwood forest.
View in gallery The house was designed as a retreat, a getaway to be used all year around during holidays, summer and whatever other occasion. The quiet location allows it be a wonderful destination for relaxation. The Ridge Firm has a wooden exterior and a stone core. It's an unusual way of combining these materials. The exterior is also framed in glass, assuasive unobstructed and panoramic views of the surroundings. The stone core features two large fireplaces that serve as the focal point around which the rest of the spaces are organized.

The social areas are facing north and include a wooden deck with glass walls that create a seamless transition. The master bedroom features views of the woods. The house integrates beautifully into the surroundings. It has a very potent core and an interesting combination of materials that make it both simple and bold.{found on archdaily and pics past Nic Lehoux}.
